49er Ski Club COVID-19 Policy

COVID-19 transmission has increased substantially due to the spread of the delta variant and presents a major risk to the health of unvaccinated individuals. None of us want to be responsible for the preventable illness or death of a friend. As a result, all attendees at in-person 49er Ski Club events must be vaccinated and be prepared to show proof of vaccination. Masks are required for all indoor events and are recommended for outdoor events in close contact with others. Additionally, please DO NOT participate in the event IF:

  1. you have been exposed to COVID-19 and are in a quarantine period, or
  2. you are experiencing any COVID-19 or flu-like symptoms such as fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, recent loss of taste or smell, sore throat, nasal congestion, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.

Reliable sources tell me that Wright’s Lake is full and beautiful, so let’s go cool off in the mountains. Bring a picnic lunch and your walking shoes and we’ll make a day of it.
Just go east on 50 for 70.5 miles from Watt Avenue, then 5 miles past Kyburz there’s a sign for Wright’s Lake Road, a left turn. Another 8 miles takes you to the lovely launch area.

Drive time from Watt and Hwy 50 is approx. 1 hour 45 minutes, so let’s try to launch at 10:15. (That’s a compromise---only 4 people expressed a preference for time, and it was a tie, so I’m splitting the difference.)
