Let’s visit an all-time favorite, the Cosumnes River Preserve. Wednesday’s forecast is for a high of 101, but not until 4 p.m. Morning should be pleasant: 75 o at 9 a.m. rising to 95o by 1p.m. Plenty of time for a nice outing, so let’s plan to be in the water at 9:30.

The Visitor’s Center is not open, so be sure to bring your kayak carts, and if any of you have an extra that you’re willing to share it would be appreciated. We can have lunch on the shady deck at the Visitor’s Center, so be sure to take your lunch along. The restrooms are open.

Directions: Head South on I-5; exit at Twin Cities road and go left to Franklin Blvd; turn right. The address of the Visitor’s Center (parking lot and restrooms) is 13501 Franklin Blvd., Galt. Phone 916-684-2816.
