Let's go to Black Miner’s Bar where the wind will be a light 5 mph from our south side. Weather forecast: 9 a.m. temp 71, rising to 83 by noon.
Black Miners Bar (formerly Negro Bar) is on Lake Natoma. The entrance is from Greenback Lane just west of the highway bridge on Folsom Blvd. Please allow time for parking in the lot above the launch ramp after unloading your boat. It’s a State Park, so use your pass or have $10 handy at the kiosk when you drive in.
For first-timers: drive across the bike path, angling to the right-hand side of the large parking lot where you’ll see the road down to the launch ramp. Don’t take the vehicle road that runs parallel to the bike path.
For those interested, Coffee Republic is a nice place for lunch with outdoor, dog-friendly seating, very close by at 6601 Folsom-Auburn Road, Folsom.
