North Shore Ski Trip Recap
March 18-20, 2025
Our annual North Shore Ski Trip was a great success this year, with a surprise snowstorm just before our arrival bringing both fresh powder and an unexpected boost in turnout! Originally, 20 members had signed up in advance, but the beautiful snowfall enticed another 20 to join at the last minute, giving us a total of 40 skiers.
We stayed at the Base Camp Motel in Tahoe City, for the second year in a row, which we nearly filled to capacity—some members even had to find rooms at nearby lodgings. Our trip kicked off on Tuesday, March 18th, with a perfect bluebird day at Palisades (Squaw Valley). The sun was shining, the snow was fresh, and the skiing was fantastic. That evening, we gathered in the cozy, rustic lobby of Base Camp for our traditional 5 p.m. tiddlies and socializing, before heading out for dinner in town.

Wednesday brought more sunshine and stellar conditions, with many members choosing to ski at Alpine Meadows. We met up for lunch on the mountain and enjoyed a mix of smooth groomers and powdery off-piste runs. That evening, we reconvened for tiddlies and a group dinner of pizza and salad in the Base Camp lobby—a fun and relaxed way to wrap up the day.

On Thursday, most of the group headed to North Star for one last day of incredible skiing. With everyone traveling in their own cars, flexibility was easy, and the proximity to home made it a convenient and spontaneous adventure.
Thanks to some perfectly timed snowfall and wonderful company, the 2025 North Shore trip was a memorable one. We’re already looking forward to next year!

Marsha put a lot of effort into making this trip a success, especially the group pizza dinner. She even provided a great choice of salad as an extra contribution of her own. Thanks Marsh for everything you did.
