49er Ski Club COVID-19 Policy

The State of Emergency for COVID-19 in California has ended, however, the disease remains endemic and continues to infect more than 1,000 people per day in the state. Vaccination remains the most effective method to prevent serious illness and death if you contract COVID-19. Therefore, the 49er Ski Club highly recommends that all attendees at club events are vaccinated and boosted in accordance with CDC and California Department of Public Health recommendations. Mask mandates have been lifted for indoor events. However, you may wish to wear a mask for your own safety. Additionally, please DO NOT participate in a club event IF:

  1. you have been exposed to COVID-19 and are in a quarantine period, or
  2. you are experiencing any COVID-19 or flu-like symptoms such as fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, recent loss of taste or smell, sore throat, nasal congestion, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.

Organized Day trips

Over 20 planned day trips each year to Tahoe area ski resorts with car pools arranged from a common location near Sacramento.

Travel skiing

A variety of multi-day travel ski opportunities each year.  Some in state some out of state.

Social Activities and Events

The 49ers are active and social. We hold social events such as our Snoball and Oktoberfest parties each year.  We have other activities going all year, like bike rides, hiking, kayaking and pickleball.

Some local sporting goods shops provide the 49ers with discounts.  Since we book trips as a larger group we often get discounts on lodging and equipment rentals for the trips.
