Hike a Portion of the Tahoe Rim Trail, Brockway Summit segment, with Martis Peak Fire Lookout side trip - approx. 6.5 miles total, approx. 1K elevation climbing total.
Come join Marian and Lauren for a hike along a section of the Tahoe Rim Trail (TRT), specifically off the Brockway Summit area on the North Shore area of Lake Tahoe. We'll drive up to the high point, and hike along the TRT from there. Great views!
Meet at the Raley's parking lot in Truckee along Hwy 267 at 9 AM. We'll group there and carpool to the top of Martis Peak Road. The turnoff will be a few miles further along Hwy 267 just before Brockway Summit. The drive up Martis Peak Road to the top of the hill will be 4 miles along an old, rutted road marked with potholes, so if you have a higher-clearance vehicle and wouldn't mind driving folks up, we'd all appreciate it! This road is not recommended for low-clearance vehicles, and parking at the top can be limited as well.
