If you don’t want to drive to Loon Lake to join the campers, plan to be in the water at 9:30 for a nice paddle from Willow Creek on Lake Natoma. A 5-6 mph breeze is in the forecast; I suggest paddling into the wind outbound so it will be at your back on your return.

The entrance is from Folsom Blvd. southbound ONLY, so from Hwy 50 you must go to the traffic signal at Blue Ravine Road and make a U-turn—the entrance will then be before you reach the traffic signal at Iron Point Rd. There is a sign that is somewhat obscured by vegetation. For those interested in lunch, Dos Coyotes and LaBou are in the shopping center at Blue Ravine Road, and the patio is dog friendly; the Old Spaghetti Factory at Hazel is another option (no outdoor seating).

State parks pass or $10 at the iron ranger.
